1.What is UnionPay Credit Card?
UnionPay is an international card network that offers secure, convenient and cost effective payment services for global customers. UnionPay cards are accepted in 160 countries and regions, and issued in over 40 countries and regions around the world. UnionPay cards are widely accepted at millions of physical merchant stores in mainland China market and its neighboring countries. ICBC USA is proud to be the sole issuer of UnionPay cards in the US. In the US, UnionPay is accepted at over 80% of physical merchant stores and almost all ATMs, and the UnionPay network is adding new merchants every day. In the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, UnionPay is partnering with Discover to be accepted in its network. To get good use of the card, simply find UnionPay or Discover logos at most of the physical retail stores. UnionPay card is also accepted at select top eCommerce site, such as Amazon.com, Ctrip.com, Zappos.com, Bloomingdales.com, macys.com, saks.com, neimanmarcus.com, drugstore.com, etc.
2.What does credit card APR mean, and what is variable APR?
APR stands for annual percentage rate and takes into account the interest rate and other charges to calculate the cost of lending for products such as credit cards, loans and mortgages. A variable APR is calculated by adding a set number determined by the credit card issuer (called the margin) to a reference rate (called the index) such as the U.S. Prime Rate. When the Prime Rate goes up or down, your variable APR will change.
3.Would you consider my application if I have a short U.S. credit history or no U.S. credit history?
Yes. We may require additional documentation, such as bank statements to determine eligibility.
4.How long will it take to receive a credit card?
Once approved, it will take 10 to 15 business days for you to receive the card.
5.Can I manage my account online?
Yes. Once you register for online banking, you will be able to manage your account activities online, such as downloading statements, making payments, viewing transaction history, setting payment threshold alerts, etc. Alerts can be sent to you via email or text.
6.Do ICBC credit cards have any international transaction fee?
No, there are no international transaction fees for all ICBC US credit cards.
7.I used my card outside the U.S., can I pay my credit bill in US dollar (USD)?
Regardless of the original transaction currency, your balance is always reflected in USD, and you may make payment in USD only.
8.How do I redeem my cash rewards or cash bonus?
Cash rewards is ongoing cash back for every dollar you spend on the card. Your cash rewards will appear as a statement credit in the next billing cycle. Cash bonus is an incentive for new card members once a certain spend hurdle is met. The statement credit will be applied 2-3 weeks after 90 days of account opening and the spend threshold is met.

10.How to build the credit history?
Applying for a credit card is a good way to start building credit. Equally as important, using the credit card responsibly enables you to build a sound credit history. We suggest you use the card steadily and make payments on time each month. With credit cards, you have the flexibility of making minimum monthly payments to full new balances. As a reminder, you are entitled to a free credit report with three credit bureaus each year. You can check your credit reports annually for errors and discrepancies.
